Colour Correction — Mocha Mousse

From brassy and uneven to rich, cool and dimensional.

This client arrived with heavily oxidised, warm-toned ends — orange and brassy throughout the lengths with dark, contrasting roots. The goal was to neutralise the warmth completely and rebuild an even, healthy colour from root to tip. The result is a deep, dimensional Mocha Mousse brunette: cool-toned, rich and beautifully blended, with natural movement and healthy shine.

I have been working with colour since 2004. In over two decades, I have built my entire practice around one belief: that hair colour should feel genuinely personal — created for your face, your skin tone, your lifestyle and your goals, not copied from a trend board.

SAHAA Hair Room is my private studio in PO5, Southsea, Portsmouth, where I work with women who want hair that is healthy, luminous and unmistakably their own. Clients visit from across Portsmouth, Fareham, Cosham, Havant, Waterlooville and Drayton for a level of attention that a busy salon simply cannot offer.

What to expect

Why are consultations so important?

Every client is different. Hair density, texture, previous colour history, skin undertone and lifestyle all affect which technique and formula will deliver the best result. Without a consultation, colour is a guess. At SAHAA, your appointment is prepared in advance — so your time in the chair is spent entirely on the transformation, not figuring out where to start.

Do I need a patch test before my appointment?

Yes — always. A patch test is required 48 hours before your first appointment and after any significant gap between visits. This protects you and is non-negotiable at SAHAA. We make it as simple as possible and will remind you in advance.

Can you correct previous colour work?

Yes. Colour correction is a speciality at SAHAA Hair Room. Whether your hair has been left brassy, uneven, over-lightened or incorrectly toned, Alessandra will assess your hair honestly and create a plan that prioritises the health of your hair above the speed of the result. An in-person consultation is required before any correction service.

Do you work with damaged or fragile hair?

Yes — and with particular care. Hair health is always the first priority at SAHAA. Alessandra may suggest a strengthening treatment or phased approach if your hair needs to recover before a full transformation. Honesty about what your hair can handle is part of the SAHAA commitment.

Is AirTouch suitable for everyone?

AirTouch works particularly well on finer hair textures and for clients wanting an extremely soft, feathered result with minimal visible root. During your consultation, Alessandra will advise whether AirTouch or freehand balayage will deliver the result you are looking for.

How often should I maintain my blonde?

Balayage and AirTouch are designed to grow out beautifully, so many clients find they only need a maintenance appointment every 12–16 weeks. Alessandra will discuss a long-term colour plan with you so you can maintain your result without over-treating your hair.
